Shankar Jaikishan are the reason we are all here together today. Their music attracted us, enthralled us and kept us spell bound for the past seven decades and more. Besides being great musicians, they were great human beings as well. Well liked by their producers and directors for their professionalism, they were the envy of their peers. They were role models, trend setters, fund raisers, fashion icons, record breakers, highest number of award winners, winners of international fame and you name it, they did it. There was non before them, non during their time and non thereafter. They re-wrote Hindi film music and will always be remembered as the greatest musicians to be born on the Indian soil.
