In the entertainment world where relationships keep changing with times, there was one that lasted a life time. It was that of Shankar Jaikishan’s. Theirs was an unique relationship. While Shankar saw a younger brother in Jaikishan who in turn found a parent and guardian in Shankar. They found in each other an endless love, loyalty, respect and support.
The bond that kept Shankar and Jaikishan together got stronger day by day. It weathered all rumors spun by gossip mongers who said that there was rift between the two which caused them to work separately. Nothing could be farther from the truth. With their success and immense popularity came a heavy work load. At the height of their career, SJ had around twenty assignments on hand. Jaikishan was a married man with a young wife and three kids. Therefore, he wished to spend more time with his family. So, he chose to partially work at home. Shankar, having no responsibilities, devoted all his time to his work at his recording studio.
SJ were known to be very professional who would deliver their product in a very timely fashion. That was the reason, working separately agreed with them since they could easily meet their deadlines. Yet, they were in constant communication to help coordinate their work which was always a collaborative effort. All self proclaimed “gurus” can say what they may, and fans can believe in what they read or heard, but SJ continued to stay together and be loyal to each other. Their undying and unconditional love remained with them till their end. As their fans, we need to respect that and stop unnecessary discussions about heresy statements about them.
